The Wind Symphony (Wind Symphony 1-2-3 in the
Curriculum Guide) is the premiere wind and percussion ensemble at NVOT. Made up
of instrumentalists in grades 10-12, this ensemble performs at four campus
concerts per year. In addition, members are invited to participate in the annual
spring festival weekend trip. The Wind Symphony is traveling to Washington, DC for the 2008
Washington DC Music Festival, April 3-6, 2008.
Students in this ensemble are also eligible to
participate in
Jazz Band (by audition),
honor ensembles (by audition: County, Region,
& All-State), chamber ensembles, and
Musical Theater Pit Orchestra. Members of this class ensemble are required
to fulfill the marching band curriculum requirement during the first (fall)
marking period either through direct participation or by alternate assignment (in the
case of personal conflict).
