48th annual All-School Musical Production:
Disney's Beauty & the Beast

Performances

We cannot offer the traditional Senior Citizen/Grammar School matinee this year, because the New Jersey graduation testing for juniors (HSPA) has been scheduled during the only week that we can schedule our production performances. In place of a matinee, we will offer this performance for Senior Citizens:

  • Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 6:00 pm - Dress Rehearsal (open to Senior Citizens only; tickets required)

Tickets are available for all regular performances:

  • Friday, March 4, 2011 at 7:00 pm

  • Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 2:00 pm

  • Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 7:00 pm

  • Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 2:00 pm

Tickets

Tickets will be available for web purchase through this website and www.nvotmusical.org, and purchase in person at school. Details will be posted here when finalized.

About the show

To save her father’s life, a remarkable young woman sacrifices her freedom and becomes the captive of a hideous beast and his staff of enchanted objects. Forced together, the beauty and her doomed host reluctantly discover a love that may just remove the devastating curse placed on a handsome prince long ago in a far away land.

Based on the Academy Award-winning animated film, the stage version of “Disney's Beauty and the Beast” will challenge the school’s many talented crews with projects unlike any they have attempted before—massive sets, enchanted costumes, and stunning special effects. Add in all of your favorite characters, the largest chorus ever attempted, child actors from the elementary schools, and a set of living gargoyles… and this promises to be the biggest production in Northern Valley history.

Director and designer John Housley once again joins conductor Curt Ebersole, vocal music director James Ruck and the entire staff of last year’s sold out production of Sweeney Todd.

Matinee and evening performances will be held on March 4, 5, 6, 2011. An Information Meeting for any students interested in joining the cast or crews will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2010: 6:00 pm for crews and 6:45 pm for cast. Auditions for the show will be held in November. Tickets go on sale in December.
